Using the tools

The tools on CoolLetteringGenerator.com are free for personal and commercial use. You don’t need an account. By using the site you agree to these terms.

What you create is yours

  • Styled text. The characters produced by the generators are standard Unicode characters. Nobody owns them, and you can use the text anywhere.
  • Images from the Lettering Image Maker. Images are drawn with open-source fonts licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (Permanent Marker uses the Apache License 2.0); both permit using images made with them in personal and commercial work. You don’t need to credit us.
  • Practice sheets. Printable cursive worksheets may be printed and copied freely for personal, home-school and classroom use.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use styled or look-alike characters to:

  • impersonate people, brands or official accounts, or disguise links (for example, look-alike letters in a fake web address);
  • evade platform moderation, spam filters or bans;
  • harass anyone.

Platforms prohibit these uses and may remove accounts that do this.

Platform rules are theirs

Whether styled text is accepted in a particular username, name or game is decided by that platform, and rules change. Our compatibility information is provided in good faith and checked periodically, but we can’t guarantee that a style will be accepted or display correctly on every device.
